New Beginnings: The Gill Family’s Journey to Canada

The CCASA is pleased to share with our community members at large that a few years ago, the
organization sponsored a Christian fellow Mr. Calib Gill, who was forced to leave his homeland
Pakistan due to religious persecution and took refuge in Nepal.

Last year on June 13, 2024, Mr. Calib Gill with his spouse and 3 years old son arrived at the
Pearson Airport, Toronto.  The family was greeted by the representative of the organization Mr.
Joseph Patres, Mr. Innocent Joseph and Dr. Alwin Murad.

After arrival, the family wished to settle in the Peel Region rather than moving to the community
of settlement in Kingston.  The organization honored their decision and we have successfully
fulfilled the sponsorship obligations as agreed under the Sponsorship Undertaking with the IRCC
for the sponsored refugee settlement program.

Our sincere thanks to Mr & Mrs  Ashraf and Razia Masih, who honoured CCASA request for
hosting the family upon arrival and a temporary stay.  They also accepted responsibility on
behalf of the organization to be the community representative in the community of settlement
Peel Region.

We thank Mr. Innocent Joseph family and community members for their financial support to
sponsor the family.

Our sincere thanks to Mr. John Bose and Innocent Khokhar and all other community members
who provided miscellaneous post-arrival support to the family.

We wish the family every success ahead.
